Inklusiivinen Tanssivat Timantit -ryhmä esittelee monitaiteisen näyttelyn nimeltä Tanssi!.
Näyttely on pehmeän radikaali, eli rohkea mutta ystävällinen. Näyttelyssä yhdistyvät valokuvat, kirjoitetut tekstit ja tanssi. Näyttelyn teemoina ovat kehollisuus, aistillisuus ja miltä tuntuu tanssia ja liikkua eri ympäristöissä.
Tanssivat Timantit on Kokkolassa toimiva tanssiryhmä, jossa tanssii kolme tanssijaa. Tanssivat Timantit -ryhmän jäsenet ovat Maria Lahti, Jarmo Patana ja Sanna Tornikoski. Tanssivat Timantit -ryhmän työssä korostuu ammattimaisuus ja se, että kehitysvammaisten tanssijoiden taitoja kehitetään tekemällä. Ryhmä on esittänyt aiemmin teoksia, kuten Kvartetto (2019) ja Kohtaamisia (2023), ja ne on nähty monissa eri paikoissa, kuten Tampereen teatterikesässä ja Edinburgh Fringe -festivaaleilla.
Näyttelyn valokuvat on ottanut valokuvaaja Salla Keskinen. Salla Keskinen on erikoistunut omakuvien ja moniaististen menetelmien käyttöön. Valokuvat on kuvattu tanssijoiden toiveiden mukaan, jotta he voivat itse päättää, miten he haluavat tulla nähdyiksi.
Näyttelyn tekstien tekemisen on ohjannut sanataideohjaaja Hanna Dufva. Näyttelyn tekstit ovat tanssijoiden kirjoittamia. Tekstit kertovat siitä, miltä tanssiminen, keho ja aistiminen tuntuvat.
Ryhmän toimintaa koordinoi koreografi Kati Raatikainen.
Projektia ovat tukeneet: Keski-Pohjanmaan rahasto, Taike, Otto A. Malmin säätiö, Kokkolan kaupunki, Pohjanmaan tanssin aluekeskus.

The inclusive group Tanssivat Timantit (Dancing Diamonds) presents a multidisciplinary exhibition titled Dance!
The exhibition is gently radical – bold yet kind. It combines photography, written texts, and dance. The themes of the exhibition are embodiment, sensuality, and the experience of dancing and moving in different environments.
Tanssivat Timantit is a dance group based in Kokkola, consisting of three dancers. The members of the group are Maria Lahti, Jarmo Patana, and Sanna Tornikoski. The work of Tanssivat Timantit highlights professionalism and emphasizes the development of the dancers' skills through active practice. The group has previously performed works such as Quartet (2019) and Encounters (2023), which have been seen in various venues including the Tampere Theatre Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
The photographs in the exhibition were taken by photographer Salla Keskinen, who specializes in self-portrait techniques and multisensory methods. The photos were created according to the dancers’ wishes, allowing them to decide how they want to be seen.
The creation of the exhibition texts was guided by literary art instructor Hanna Dufva. The texts were written by the dancers themselves and describe what dancing, the body, and sensory experiences feel like.
The group is coordinated by choreographer Kati Raatikainen.
The project has been supported by: The Central Ostrobothnia Regional Fund, Taike (Arts Promotion Centre Finland), the Otto A. Malm Foundation, the City of Kokkola, and the Regional Dance Centre of Ostrobothnia.
