*** Lya Elcagu ***

Lya has been dancing Tango since 2009 when she first traveled to Argentina. She happened to see a Tango street performance and immediately felt a strong connection to this wordless and deep dance.
In 2012 she moved to Buenos Aires to study dance, understand more about the culture and to soak up tango. Within a few years, she was teaching tango professionally at the DNI Tango School in Buenos Aires, Argentina, which was one of the most respected Argentine tango schools in the world. She danced in show productions created by the school's director and internationally recognized choreographer Dana Frigoli and later Melina Brufman for the DNI Tango Company and performed in Milongas in Buenos Aires and on international tours abroad.
Nowadays Lya is an internationally renowned Argentine tango instructor and performer. She has competed in prestigious professional Argentine tango competitions with great success, placing as a Semifinalist in the Campeonato de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires 2023 and a Finalist in the Campeonato para Mujeres en el rol Conductor 2018.
**** El Chino Necchi ****
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Even though he was surrounded by tango, he didn't fall into this beautiful dance until the necessity of expressing feelings gave him a push in its direction.
Having been a close friend of touring dancer Bruno Tombari, it was a direct dive deep into tango, taking lessons with some of the greatest teachers around today.
Since 2006 El Chino has been learning and comprehending the fundamental philosophy, the characteristic technique, the movements and the music of tango.
After intensive years of growing with many different teachers (in that period mostly as part of Buenos Aires’ El Motivo Tango organization) he was invited for the role of teacher's assistant in lessons first, then as co-teacher and ultimately one of the official lead teachers and co-organizer of the famous practica.
Since 2011 he is performing and travelling around various countries in Europe, but has never stopped taking lessons and developing a personal point of view about how to dance — but more important, understanding how to teach and transmit this dance in a very efficient way.
In 2024, he will be coming to Europe & North America with Lya Elcagu. This is their perfect excuse to share what they have been working on for the last few years
