About this Event
We are happy to present a very exciting program for our 11th concert, featuring the magnificent Symphony No. 2 by Sibelius, the exciting Fantasia Tango Argentino by Esteban Fioroni and the captivating Saxophone Concerto by Ronald Binge!
The University of Toronto Campus Philharmonic Orchestra is a campus-wide orchestra open for non-music majors at undergrad and graduate levels, as well as faculty, staff, and community members who play an orchestral instrument and want to take some time off their routines to play music in a positive and stimulating environment. The orchestra was founded and directed by doctoral student Lorenzo Guggenheim. From the beginning it has been a full-size symphonic orchestra that performs works of the large orchestral repertoire once per semester. We believe in creating interdisciplinary collaboration and interdepartmental connections across campus as part of the academic experience and generating a broader sense of community. We have performed several concerts at MacMillan Theatre and also our annual summer concert at the Royal Ontario Museum for thousands of attendees. www.facebook.com/UofTCPO

The tickets can be obtained online through Eventbrite or the day of the performance from 7:30 pm ***
We believe that creating interdisciplinary collaboration and interdepartmental connections across campus is part of the academic experience and generates a broader sense of community. Please consider supporting us through a donation to help us buy the needed percussion instruments and cover the production costs of this and future concerts. Everything helps!
