About this Event
The Workshop:

Tamykha Patterson will cover a range of topics providing you with practical skills when it comes to lighting design, looking at how to best prepare going into projects, and the nuances of working as an Associate/Assistant designer and programmer. Alongside this there will be a focus on how to forge a career in lighting design through starting out as an early career artist, finding the right jobs and making the right impression on those jobs to build your reputation.
As advertised we will be offering limited bursary places on all our workshops. For those wanting to apply please email [email protected] with either a written cover letter (no more than 1 side of A4), a voice note or video (both no longer than 5 minutes) telling us about yourself and why this workshop would be important in developing your skills and career.

About Portsmouth Road Productions' Pathways Programme:
Pathways was born as a response to both the climate in the theatre industry, post Covid-19 pandemic, and (what we viewed as ) a lack of support of young artists wanting to progress in the industry. We aim to provide a variety of programmes to help emerging artists, whatever their age or experience, to help them progress in the industry. We will never claim to have all the answers - anyone who says they do rarely do and are only preaching from their own personal experience. From our experience every individual's path is different, even if their destination is the same.
The company is committed to providing opportunities to those from low social-economic and under-represented backgrounds, demonstrated through bursary places in all our workshops.
