About this Event
The mental health and well being of young people has never been under more scrutiny.
Increasingly parents are asking for support in helping their children with issues around stress and anxiety, particularly at times of pressure such as beginning at a new school, moving into a new year and at exam time. Also, when things change at home due to divorce, separation and other changes that happen in a young person’s life.
The skills we need to manage feelings of stress and anxiety can be learned and if we can help our children to learn these, with our support, we will be giving them valuable lifelong tools.
This workshop will help you now, and prepare you for the years to come.
A Supporting Links workshop is not a lecture. It is an interactive learning experience run by highly experienced facilitators, counsellors and parenting practitioners.
All participants will receive a follow up email with additional information and handouts of all materials.
Through the use of group discussion, individual/group activities and written materials you will learn about:
- The science of stress and anxiety
- Why appropriate stress can help us
- When does stress and/or anxiety become a problem
- Preventing Stress from building up
- Responding to a stressed or anxious child
Parents will leave with the skills to apply this understanding within their families.
