Founded by Ma Yansong in 2004, MAD Architects is a global design practice that defies conventional boundaries, delving into the realms of creative design in architecture, urbanism, interior design, product design, graphic design, fashion, and art. Committed to the pursuit of bold and joyful designs, MAD aims to foster harmonious coexistence among people, communities, and their environment. Drawing inspiration from nature, MAD recognizes its profound impact on aesthetic, intellectual, cognitive, spiritual growth, and physical well-being, embodying a dedication to constructing a thriving future that enriches both the human and natural experience.
Dixon Lu serves as an Associate Partner at MAD Architects’ Los Angeles office. Previously, Dixon played a pivotal role as the Head of Operations for MAD’s Beijing office from 2008 to 2011. Upon returning to MAD in 2014, Dixon has overseen the management of the firm’s U.S. projects, including One River North, presently in construction in Denver’s RiNo neighborhood. In his presentation, Dixon will delve into the diverse array of extraordinary projects that MAD has designed globally. He will discuss how MAD's architectural approach aims to redefine the boundaries between architecture and the natural world, fostering a stronger connection to our broader ecosystem.
