About this Event
How are stories from the Global South transforming the global film landscape?
During the Global South Lens Documentary Film Festival, this panel brings together filmmakers, producers and industry experts to explore how storytelling, talent and new financing models emerging from the Global South are reshaping the international film ecosystem.
As audiences worldwide seek more authentic and culturally rooted narratives, cinema is undergoing a profound shift. Voices that have long been underrepresented are not only claiming space — they are redefining what stories are told, how they are financed and who gets to tell them.
The panel will also address opportunities and challenges for filmmakers based in the Netherlands. How can Dutch creators collaborate more equitably with partners from the Global South? What structural barriers still exist in funding, distribution and representation? And how can the Dutch film sector contribute to a more inclusive and globally connected future of cinema?
Join us for an inspiring and forward-looking conversation about power, perspective and the evolving future of film.
