About this Event
Join us for a rare opportunity to hear from a Canadian Space Agency Astronaut!
Jenni Gibbons is currently in training as the backup crewmember for CSA astronaut Jeremy Hansen on Artemis II. She will give a brief talk on her career path from Mechanical Engineer researching dynamic combustion to becoming a Canadian astronaut and training for Artemis II. The rest of the hour will be for Q&A with the audience - come with questions!
The event will take place in room 123 in the Engineering and Computer Science Building on the University of Victoria campus. The closest parking is in P1 - it is paid parking at all times. Please note that Fall convocation will be happening at the same time, so allow for additional time to find parking.
The Engineering Expansion is underway; there is construction between the Engineering buildings and Ring Road. The best way to access ECS is from the roadway access directly across from P1, next to the Bob Wright Centre. There is a bus stop directly across from this access-way as well, for anyone taking transit.
