About this Event
In recognition of National Suicide Prevention Month, The Tribes Project is proud to present a screening of the short film . Join us September 13th at the Northwest Film Forum for a late afternoon of cinematic storytelling and community discussion centered around suicide awareness and prevention.
Tales of Harsh Gruder stimulates important conversations about depression, disillusionment, and suicidal thoughts without didactic heavy-handedness. The very real, often comical, complicated and sometimes contradictory actions and circumstances confronting the film's main characters provokes questions not simple answers – this is no morality play, nor an instructional video.
Tales of Harsh Gruder features the work of award winning actor Bobby Rafferty, celebrated cinematographer Chris Rejano, legendary comic book creator Tim Seeley, as well as a soundtrack filled with authentic, vintage punk rock.
The Tribes Project is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. tribes-project.com
Doors open at 4pm, screening starts at 4:30pm.

I don't think this is a film you can understand intellectually, it's one you experience with your heart…. It will leave you thinking about the friends in your own life and the ways in which they might be struggling invisibly. - Rob, Kinowerks Chicago
