About this Event

Join professional for a colourful interactive storytime with music, props and even smells!

The Royal College of Physicians has collected books for over 500 years. Today the RCP Heritage Library has over 50,000 books! In 1666 the RCP library was all-but destroyed in the Great Fire of London. Come along this half-term, join in, meet our storyteller and help uncover the secret of the mysterious woman who rebuilt our library!

Plus our Patterns, pages and prints’ craft activity room will be open all morning. Before or after your stroy you can come along to have a go at printing your own patterns, creating moving diagrams, making bookmarks, colouring fabulous pictures and more!

Tickets

The story will be repeated throughout the morning, choose your preferred time and book a ticket to enjoy a 30-minute story time. The ticket also entitles you to drop-in to our ‘Patterns, pages and prints’ craft activity room to have fun with paper-based creation anytime between 10am and 12.30pm. Recommended for children aged 5 – 11 but all are welcome.

Ticket for one child costs £8, any additional children booked will be half-price.

All children must be accompanied by an adult but accompanying adults can attend free and do not need to book separately.

This event is inspired by RCP exhibition ‘A body of knowledge’ that explores 500 years of book collecting at the RCP.

If the ticket fee would prevent you from attending the session please contact us at [email protected], we have a small number of concession tickets available.
