Take one Stitch - Hand Embroidery

What this workshop is about:

This class will focus on exploring a simple embroidery stitch and what you can create when you let your imagination go wild!
You will start with the basic stitch and how it is worked traditionally. Then you will be taking it one step further, “breaking the rules” with changes of scale, proportion, thread and more. This experimental style of embroidery means that there is no right or wrong, it will be unique to your style!

By the end of the workshop you will:

· Be familiar with the elements that make up a stitch’s structure

· Have learnt how to work one stitch traditionally

· Have explored possible variations of the stitch on a sampler

· Have looked at the possibilities of choosing “the right colours” of thread to create your own design.

All supplies will be ready and waiting for you on the course, so all you need to bring is yourself!
