It’s been a few years but we’re back! Take B(l)ack Friday is a free shopping event for community members to come shop with dignity, break bread and meet neighbors.
We collect donations of winter wear:
-coats
-gloves
-hats
-hand warmers
-boots
Clothing:
All sizes! We serve everyone from babies to elders 🖤
-clothing for colder months in good condition
-socks
-underwear
-bras
-pants
-tops
Hygiene items:
-tampons/ pads
-diapers
-wipes
-toothpaste/toothbrush
-shampoo/ conditioner
-soap
-deodorant
-brush/ combs
Household items:
We take donations of cleaning supplies, toilet paper, paper towels, and anything else that folks could use. Think pots and pans, lamps, bedding/ blankets, dishes, etc
Toys, board games, things that could be used for holiday gifts, wrapping paper and gift bags
We also serve a meal
This event is coordinated and held by members of the local community with no affiliation to any group or organization.
We need help collecting donations!
You can help by encouraging your friends, family and workplace to donate and help facilitate getting those donations to our storage unit. Volunteers will also pick up if delivery is not an option.
We need volunteers to get donations for and facilitate the meal
We need volunteers to help sort the donations and prepare, especially the week before the event. We pop up just like a store. We’ll have racks, tables, shopping bags- the whole bit.
We need volunteers to help transport the donations from storage to the pop up location the morning of, and help with set up, helping shoppers and clean up
This event will remain public but know we do this guerrilla style. No permits and we aren’t asking for permission to serve those that need a boost. If the pandas show up I will take responsibility and accept a citation 🙂↔️
