Let’s celebrate Spring 2026 with style with Taittinger Comtes Blanc de Blancs - Bottle Vs. Magnum Champagne tasting (2000-2014)*
* We will finish with a surptise blind tasting bottle from 2000/2002/2004
I invite you to join me in a special journey to discover the Prestige cuvee of Champagne Taittinger together at a vertical tasting.
**Please read carefully.**
I will allocate equivalent of 1 bottle and 1 Magnum for every 3 guests, i.e. the equivalent of 1 bottle in total per guest.
***I reserve the right to change this, if we have less guests, but all guests will have the equivalent of 1 bottle (750ml) on the evening.***

Taittinger Comtes de Champagne is a prestige cuvée Blanc de Blancs made entirely from Chardonnay grapes sourced from the best Grand Cru vineyards in the prestigious Côte des Blancs region.
It is only produced when the harvest is of exceptional quality worthy of a vintage year.
Presented in 18th century antique style bottles, this hand-crafted champagne is aged 18M underground in the UNESCO status cellars in Reims for a minimum of 8 years before being released.
**WHY MAGNUM? Size matters.**
Champagne matures better and slower in a Magnum because it has twice the volume of a standard bottle but the same neck size so it matures slower and has a more complex, mature and harmonious taste. This key factor has an impact on how much wine is in contact with the air contained in the bottle. Aeration is limited with a magnum and the process slowed down.
The larger volume of a magnum provides greater thermal mass, meaning it's less susceptible to temperature changes, which can negatively impact the wine's quality.
Some experts believe that the larger size of a magnum allows for a more harmonious development of aromas, resulting in a more balanced and expressive wine.
**Visual appeal and prestige:**
Beyond the taste, magnums are aesthetically pleasing, impressive to guests, and often associated with special occasions and luxury.
Essentially, the magnum format is often considered the ideal size for aging Champagne, allowing it to develop its full potential and reach its peak flavor profile.

The venue -within 5 mins walking distance from Angel underground - is booked for us from 18:30. If you arrive before this time, please wait in Reception.
The aperitif will be served at 18:45.
We will have a prompt 19:00 start: there’s no time to lose when Champagne, learning and fun are at stake! Carriages are at 20:30.
**This is a tasting only and there will be NO FOOD, but a handful of breadsticks will be provided**.
If you prefer food with tastings, then this event is not for you.
Please do make sure you have a good lunch and a snack due to the fact that each person will be tasting/drinking the equivalent up to 750ml on the evening. Spitoons will be provided.
