About this Event
Tactical Communication & De-escalation is designed for front-line workers who routinely operate in unpredictable, high-stress environments where poor communication can escalate risk in seconds.
This course trains participants to use presence, voice, positioning, and judgment to influence behaviour, set lawful boundaries, and stabilize volatile situations before they turn physical. Rather than relying on scripted phrases or passive techniques, students learn practical, field-tested communication strategies that align with real-world security operations and Use-of-Force decision-making.
Participants will develop the ability to recognize early warning signs of escalation, apply verbal control confidently, and create time, distance, and options. The course also addresses when de-escalation is no longer effective—and how to transition safely and professionally when verbal strategies fail.
Focused on realism, accountability, and responder safety, this training reinforces communication as a primary tactical tool—one that protects the worker, the public, and the organization.
