About this Event
You must have completed and passed the online course before booking in for assessment
The assessment is a quick overview to check that you have retained enough knowledge from the course to operate the saw. It is in 3 steps.
1. The assessor will make the saw "very wrong" and you will be asked to make it correct and set it up to make a safe crosscut.
2. The assessor will ask you to change the saw from a crosscut on the sliding table to a rip cut on the main table. They will also ask you to demonstrate using a featherboard.
3. The assessor will ask you to demonstrate changing the blade.
3a. You will be asked to clean the area at the end of the assessment.
If you complete the above to the assessors satisfaction they will approve you to use the saw. If you have difficulties that stop the assessor being confident in your usage of the saw, they may give you directions on what to do next, such as go through the online course again.
