Flamenco in France invites Mathilde Virginia known as “La Chula” a young French bailaora living in Seville and who had learned her skills in Flamenco in France among others.

Classically trained at the conservatory Mathilde first encountered Flamenco during workshops in Spain or at festivals in the south of France.

She will then begin her apprenticeship with dancers as varied as Carmen Ledesma Pastora Galvan and Gema Moneo.

She subsequently trained in Paris in the monthly classes of Jose Maya or Joaquin Grilo and of course in Flamenco in France.

It is also at the end of the association's course that she will do her first solo before debuting a few days later at the Tablao de Malaga "Los Amayas" for a whole week of performance with the Navarro family. .

At 18 she decided to settle in Seville which she has not left since.

After a brief stint at the Cristina HEEREN foundation where she benefited from the teaching of the great Milagros Menjibar she preferred learning in the field to academic teaching.

It was then that she began to perform in the street but also in different tablaos (the best school some say).

She was quickly spotted by professionals and permanently joined the cuadros of Sevillian establishments as renowned as Carboneria or Alvarez Quintero.

Mathilde is a pure tablao bailaora of great expressiveness with instinctive dancing and perfectly mastering the dialogue with singing and guitar."

For her first Flamenco tablao in France she will be accompanied by two seasoned artists: the cantaora Cécile Evrot and the guitarist Cristobal Corbel both regulars on the peña boards.
