About this Event
Join us for a gentle winter wander along The Line, London’s first dedicated public art trail. Hosted by Kinetika’s T100 programme, this five-hour walk traces the route of the Greenwich Meridian, connecting Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park to The O2 through riverside paths, landmark artworks and pockets of East London that are quietly evolving.
Led by Kinetika artist and long-standing T100 volunteer Lesley Robinson alongside Ali Pretty, Kinetika’s Artistic Director, the walk offers a slow, reflective look at art, place and London’s shifting landscape. Together, Lesley and Ali will explore the role of artists in sparking conversations that challenge existing perspectives, using walking and creative responses to deepen our understanding of the environments we move through.
This shared enquiry forms part of our preparation for walking the Lebanon Mountain Trail in 2026 (more information below), where we’ll ask participants a question that begins here: what does hope mean to you?

- End Point: North Greenwich Station, 5 Millennium Way, London SE10 0PH
- Duration: 5 hours (including stop for lunch)
- Distance: Approximately 4.8 miles
- Difficulty: Moderate
- Walk Lead: Lesley

About the Mountains of Hope Creative Residency
Sunday 11 – Friday 16 January 2026
The Mountains of Hope residency brings together Kinetika and the Lebanon Mountain Trail Association for an international exchange in silk-making, storytelling and collaborative creative practice.
Building on the first residency in September 2025, artists are continuing work on 27 hand-painted silks that reflect the heritage, identity and community stories of the 450 km Lebanon Mountain Trail. Each silk represents a section of the trail and is co-designed with local groups in Lebanon.
The January residency at Kinetika Studios deepens this partnership, strengthening the shared creative language that connects people, places and landscapes across borders.
In April 2026, Ali Pretty will walk the full Lebanon Mountain Trail, carrying and handing over these silks to communities along the way. If you’re interested in joining the trail for part or all of the journey, please email: [email protected]
