About this Event
First published in written form in the 1650s, English (Scottish/French) country dances were brought over by early American immigrants and eventually evolved into more modern styles like Contra and Square dancing.
- Formed in large circles or long lines, English country is a social dance designed to get you dancing with new partners all evening.
- Our dances are attended by kids, highschoolers, parents, college kids, and seniors. It's a great way to connect with a community with interests in dance, music, history, and traditional cultures.
- Our venue is very kid friendly. Baby wearing, and sometimes toddler carrying, while dancing is common!
- No dance experience is required. Just bring yourself and a pair of comfy shoes.
