Are you ready to SWING OUT?!Join us for our upcoming 6-week session, Swingin' Out with The Count! featuring the music of Count Basie and His Orchestra. This routine draws inspiration from the vibrant, high-energy footwork of Lindy Hop, a Black American swing dance that originated in Harlem, New York in the 1920s and 1930s. While Lindy Hop is traditionally a partnered dance, we will be incorporating Lindy Hop footwork, frame, and rhythm for this solo jazz number. This routine will also blend elements of African American Vernacular Jazz Dance and Charleston era dances. This piece is all about stylistic self-expression, and we're gonna show how you don't always need a partner to SWING OUT!
This routine is open to all skill levels and we’d LOVE to have you join us!
