Swimming a Long Way Together Exhibition Walkthrough

For Culture Night Dublin 2024, The LAB Gallery will welcome visitors to view the new exhibition ‘Swimming a Long Way Together’ by Vanessa Daws, curated by Rosie Hermon. There will also be an artist and curator walk-through starting at 5pm.

‘Swimming a Long Way Together’ is a rolling art project, spanning the past 4 years, created by artist Vanessa Daws and curated by Rosie Hermon. Drawing its inspiration from pioneering swimmer Mercedes Gleitze, the work is a celebration of swimming and swimming communities across the island of Ireland, in South East England and beyond.

The LAB was established by Dublin City Council in 2005 as a municipal arts hub, housing gallery, rehearsal and incubation spaces for a range of art forms. The LAB Gallery supports emerging art practices and delivers a year-round programme of free events for all ages. In addition to Dublin City Council, the LAB Gallery is supported by the Arts Council
