About this Event
In collaboration with the Liverpool Guild of Students, this lively, interactive fair brings together research, projects, initiatives, and partnerships from across the University and beyond, showcasing how sustainability is being embedded across education, research, operations, and student life. With almost 30 stalls, the Sustainability Fair offers the chance to:
- Meet researchers, professional services teams, student societies, and external organisations
- Explore sustainability work across themes such as climate action, low-carbon innovation, social justice, biodiversity, and community engagement
- Discover opportunities to get involved in projects, campaigns, careers, and everyday sustainable action
Who will be there?
Stalls include a wide range of contributors such as:
University of Liverpool research, centres and professional services
- Centre for Sustainable Business - A research centre supporting businesses and policymakers to develop practical solutions to the climate emergency alongside social justice and responsible business practices.
- Heritage Institute - An interdisciplinary institute exploring how heritage research can address global challenges such as inequality, human rights, sustainability, and cultural resilience.
- Low Carbon Eco-Innovatory (LCEI) - A University led partnership programme supporting low-carbon innovation and helping organisations progress towards net zero through research expertise and collaboration.
- Centre for Doctoral Training in Net Zero Maritime Energy Solutions (N0MES) - Find out how this EPSRC-funded CDT is training researchers to solve real-world net zero challenges in offshore, marine, and energy systems.
- Low Carbon Architecture - Research from the Liverpool School of Architecture focused on low- and zero-carbon design, climate performance, embodied carbon, and circular approaches to the built environment
- Centre for People’s Justice - A community-led research centre exploring how legal systems can better support outcomes that matter to people’s everyday lives, including fair work, safe homes, and thriving communities.
- Centre for Joined-Up Sustainability Transformations (JUST) - An interdisciplinary research centre focused on people-centred, socially just sustainability transformations through joined-up systems thinking.
- IT Services - Learn how the University is reducing the environmental impact of digital technologies through sustainable IT practices, responsible disposal, and circular economy approaches.
- Sustainability Team - Meet the team coordinating the University’s Sustainability Strategy and Climate Plan, embedding sustainability across campus operations, partnerships, and everyday practice, and driving progress towards our net zero targets.
- Guild of Students Sustainability Team - Discover how students can take action on sustainability through campaigns, volunteering, and “Give it a Go” sessions, with opportunities to build skills, try something new, and get involved in causes that matter on campus and in halls.
- Sustainable Procurement - Discover how sustainable and ethical procurement supports the University’s net zero ambitions, including responsible sourcing, Fairtrade, and supplier engagement.
- Campus Food & Drink, with Crosby Coffee - Explore how sustainability is embedded in campus food and drink, including ethical sourcing, waste reduction, and responsible consumption.
- Equality, Diversity and Inclusion - Learn how equality, diversity and inclusion work connects with sustainability to create fairer, more inclusive environments for staff and students.
- Maker Space - Discover the Library’s Maker Space, where staff and students can experiment with creative and digital technologies and get hands-on by creating and testing your own designs, supporting innovation, skills development, and sustainable design.
- Careers and Employability - Speak to the Careers and Employability team and Career Coaches about developing skills, exploring opportunities, and building sustainability into your future career.
- Living Lab Projects - Learn about sustainability projects using the University campus as a ‘living lab’, showcasing real-world initiatives including work on fast fashion and domestic waste through collaboration between students, staff, and partners.

- SOS-UK (Students Organising for Sustainability UK)

The UK’s largest student network campaigning for climate justice and ethical responsibility, find out how you can get involved in student-led campaigns and sustainability action.
- Greenpeace
A global environmental organisation campaigning for climate action and biodiversity protection, learn how students can get involved through campaigns, events, and volunteering opportunities.
- Canal & River Trust
A UK charity caring for canals and rivers, discover ways to get involved in volunteering, conservation activities, and protecting waterways for people and wildlife.
- The Conservation Volunteers (TCV)
An environmental charity offering hands-on conservation volunteering, find out how you can get involved in practical activities that support nature recovery and community wellbeing.
- Environmental Society (University of Liverpool)
A student-led society bringing together those passionate about environmental issues, sustainability activities, and practical action on campus and beyond.
- Marine Science and Oceanography Society
A student society for those interested in marine science, oceanography, and ocean conservation, promoting engagement with marine sustainability topics.
