Surya namaskara literally translates as salute to the sun. The dynamic sequences are often used at the beginning of a yoga practice to warm the muscles and joints, preparing them for the movement that follows. They introduce us to the vinyasa system, synchronising movement with breath. They can also be viewed as a complete, all-in-one practice, as well as a form of dynamic meditation. In this workshop we will break down the constituent parts of both sequences, looking at variations and the use of props. There will be opportunities to move through the sequences at your own pace to allow you to explore the meditative quality of the practice.
The steady flow of opposing actions, front-body openers followed by grounding forward folds, integrates everything necessary to leave you feeling balanced in your body and mind.
This workshop is £25 - concessions apply.
