Join filmmaker Madeleine Hunt-Ehrlich, visual artist Leslie Hewitt, and Natalie Dupêcher, Associate Curator of Modern Art, for a conversation held in conjunction with Rice University’s upcoming screening of "The Ballad of Suzanne Césaire," 2024, which explores the life and legacy of the Caribbean surrealist writer. The speakers discuss surrealism as resistance, the challenges of representing overlooked histories, and how artists and curators engage memory, image, and narrative.This program, copresented with Rice University, takes place in the main building, located at 1533 Sul Ross Street.
