Supporting Survivors: Advanced Advocacy for Child Victims of Human Trafficking
Each session requires separate registration, please register for tickets for each session. Attendance at both sessions is encouraged. If you plan to attend both days, please select two tickets: one for session 1 and one for session 2.
Session 1: Understanding Human Trafficking and Trauma-Informed Engagement: Tools for Attorneys and Advocates
Tuesday, October 21 from 1:00 - 4:30 pm
3.5 CLE (substantive) and CEU credits
Learning Objectives:
- Recognizing and identifying signs of human trafficking
- Overview of trauma and its impact on brain development and behavior
- Discussion of the victim-offender intersectionality
- Reframing and contextualizing survivor behaviors
- Trauma-informed practices and engagement strategies to build trust and support healing
Session 2: Systems, Services, and Advocacy for Survivors
Wednesday, October 29 from 1:00 - 4:00 pm
3.0 CLE (substantive) and CEU credits)
Learning Objectives:
- Immersive group activity exploring systemic barriers and emphasizing survivor experiences
- Overview of key services, including legal, mental health, housing, and peer-based services
- Recognizing gaps and needed system improvements

Cost: General Registration and registration for CEU credit and Child Advocates Volunteer Attorneys is free. There is a $10 fee per CLE credit.
