About this Event
Join artist Danielle Cowan for Supporting Soundscapes of Hope, a community workshop for care workers.
This interactive session calls on the audience to actively participate by capturing the sounds of hope in the communities you help or call home. We’ll play back the sounds you submit, create reflective arts and add our reflections to a scroll. The intention for this workshop is to connect with others who share a deep commitment to the community.
Audience participation is a crucial aspect of this workshop, as it invites everyone to join in, release stress from civic duties or budget constraints, and co-create with a crew that cares.
At the end of the session, you'll also have the chance to share a community meal and contribute your sounds and scribbles to a developing public art project for display in Staten Island's Makerpark. Tune in, submit your sounds, and be part of shaping the soundscapes that uplift your neighborhood!
*BEFORE THE WORKSHOP please audio record any sounds or a message of hope that resonates with you and submit them to https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1xXmBK-72stcMYg2QiPxRuU6q49GoMTen at least a day in advance so we can listen back together as a community and be inspired for our collective art-making.
WHEN: Saturday, April 4th 5-7pm
FREE
For care workers and community workers - please only RSVP if you can attend. If your plans change, please cancel your reservation so someone else can have your spot.
