About this Event
Supporting Neurodivergent Women
An in-person event for women who are diagnosed, self-identifying or wondering if they are neurodivergent. If you have always felt different and want to understand more about yourself, this event may help.
The presentation will be lead by a local counsellor/psychotherapist with professional and lived experience of neurodivergence and navigating late diagnosis. This is not a medical talk, or advice on diagnosis, it is based on the social model of neurodiversity and the belief that we are different, not broken!
The focus of this session will be to explore some of the social and emotional challenges that impact our communication and relationships.
We will be talking about Rejection Sensitivity (RSD), Alexithymia, and PDA (demand avoidance). These challenges can cause complications and confusion when interacting with friends, family and work colleagues. The aim is to expand self-awareness and consider strategies, to support and improve your relationship with yourself and others.
This session is about women's experiences, but everyone is welcome.
Please note: There are many forms of neurodivergence, but the content of this event will focus mainly on being autistic/ADHD/AuDHD.
