About this Event

DiSH has teamed up with GMCVO, Centre for Tendering and successful GM social entrepreneurs Beth Nunn & Vic Turnbull to showcase SE across Greater Manchester, share valuable resources and to connect SE's with each other.

Owen Hewson (GMCVO) – Greater Manchester Social Enterprise Network (GMSEN)

Owen will talk about the Greater Manchester Social Enterprise Network, which works to showcase social enterprise across GM, connect organisations with each other, with existing support and opportunities for business and growth.

Owen works in the social enterprise team at GMCVO, who work to drive economic and social inclusion in Greater Manchester. Support for social enterprises is at the core of GMCVO’s work.

Dr Paula Turner, Centre for Tendering

Paula will discuss a business model social entrepreneurs can use to find and win grant applications and tenders.

Paula teaches business leaders and teams how to find, write and succeed at winning grants and tender competitions across national and regional anchor institutions and purchasing frameworks. She has expert knowledge of modern buying criteria and advises firms how to build compliance and innovation into their business growth strategy. Paula has current and impressive knowledge of national and regional socio-economic policy environments, large national and devolved commissioning budgets (e.g., Adult Education Budgets) and has written many successful outcome-based bids on behalf of her clients.
