About this Event
Clients with dual diagnoses—both a mental health disorder and a substance use disorder—often face complex physical, emotional, and social challenges rooted in their life experiences. Trauma-informed care is essential when addressing these co-occurring conditions, as it helps create safety, build trust, and foster resilience. This workshop provides participants with an overview of the unique challenges faced by this population and equips them with trauma-informed strategies to support healing and recovery.
Learning Objectives:
- Recognize the Impact of Trauma on Dual Diagnoses: Understand how trauma influences mental health, substance use, and behavior in individuals with co-occurring conditions.
- Integrate Trauma-Informed Approaches into Care: Learn techniques to create a safe, supportive environment that fosters trust and reduces the risk of re-traumatization.
- Support Holistic Recovery: Explore strategies to address the physical, emotional, and social needs of clients, promoting their journey toward long-term wellness.
