Superbloom is a response to the wildfires in 2023 across traditional territories in Yukon and NWT. Inspired by the fireweed blooming in Ethel Lake following the fire, community members created this anthology and visual art project to explore the resilience inherent in the land and in our communities. It was conceptualized by Nicole Schafenacker and Krystle Silverfox, created by many hands across Yukon and NWT, and made possible with support from the Dechinta Centre, Yukon Arts Fund, and CPAWS Yukon.CPAWS Yukon is one of 18+ Whitehorse venues in the Yukon Prize Air North Art Crawl, which features exhibitions, artist demos, live music, and more — including a scavenger hunt for a chance to win Air North flights!
