“My concept for Jazz in Hall is to perform a set of music, curated to provide a sense of the electric guitar’s versatility, and potential as a lead instrument within a jazz context. While twentieth century popular music was dominated by the electric guitar, it is often overlooked as a jazz instrument. By incorporating repertoire, and techniques, more commonly associated with blues, rock, and popular music I hope to gently expand the idea of what it means to play jazz guitar in the twenty-first century. With an eclectic program of traditional, and contemporary music, and as part of a specially chosen quartet, the unique characteristics of the electric guitar will take centre stage.”

3rd The jazz jam closes out the evening introducing yet more jazz ‘n blues ‘n improvisational musicians including instrumentalists and vocalists sitting in with the band.
