James Neil joined the Beam Suntory family in 2017. Prior to his time with the organization, he had spent 10+ years running his own hospitality consulting business along with his own restaurant in the Vancouver market. His business took him across the nation focused on quality cocktails, wine, and whisky programs. Upon his arrival in the Hamilton market, he created groups such as the Hamilton Cocktail Showcase — a platform for bartenders to showcase their craft while giving back to the community, which has donated over $5,000 to local charities.
Since being in his role, James has been featured on many podcasts and in publications. Gentologie Magazine, National Post, Cool Hunting Magazine, and also our dear friends at Ciders, Sodas, and Cocktails on Sportsnet 650AM with Darryl Lamb and Joe Leary are just a few.
Spending his past years absolutely immersed in the world of whisky, he has dedicated himself to the world of Single Malts and Irish Whiskey. Visiting and working with teams at each distillery, he has been able to bring life to brands such as Auchentoshan, Bowmore, Laphroaig, Kilbeggan, and Tyrconnell as he shares their stories and liquid across the nation.
