Join the Southwestern Indiana Native Plant Society as we kick off our very first adopted native garden in the city!We will be working together to remove invasive plants, refresh the space with mulch, and help restore it with native species. This is a great opportunity to get your hands dirty, learn about native plants, and see how these gardens support birds, pollinators, and the local ecosystem.
Several local artisans, farms, and educators who specialize in native plants will also be there to share their knowledge. It is a great chance to ask questions, learn from people who work with natives every day, and connect with others who care about restoring our local landscapes.
Whether you are brand new to native plants or already love them, this will be a fun and educational, family-friendly event. Members will be there to help identify plants, explain the benefits of natives, and share tips you can use in your own yard or community spaces.
If you have ever wanted to learn more about native plants or help improve a local green space, this is the perfect place to start!
