Burgh House presents Sunday Sounds, our recital series showcasing emerging musicians.
Mexican-Canadian cellist and composer Bruno Quezada has been an active member of the classical music scene in both Canada and the UK for the last decade. A recent graduate from the Royal Academy of Music, Bruno’s versatile career as a cellist and composer has won him many awards, including the 2021 Silver Medal and the Barbara Pentland Award for the Vancouver International Music Competition, and a 2024 Distinction award from the Academy. Bruno has played in venues like the Royal Overseas League, Sudley Castle, The National Club, The Orpheum, Domain Forget, Duke’s Hall, and Cadogan Hall. Bruno has also worked with distinguished artists such as principals of the Berlin Philharmonic, Trevor Pinnock, John Wilson, Roderick Cox, Robert Cohen, James Gilchrist, and Anna Tillbrook. Bruno plays on a 1840s Guinot Cello from Mirecourt, France.
