About this Event
Sunday Slowdown is our monthly group sound healing offering in Greenwich - a sonic sanctuary for rest, release, and to reconnection with slower, grounded rhythms — physically, mentally, and emotionally - and often aligned with key celestial events to amplify healing, intention, and energy.
What to expect
After settling in, the session begins with gentle breath work and heart-opening meditation, accompanied by the bass drum. This encourages heart-brain-body coherence and activates the body’s natural rest and digest response, allowing you to arrive fully in your body and the present moment.
From here, you’ll be immersed in layers of therapeutic sound, including gongs, crystal singing bowls, and the voice from both sides of the room, nestling you in a 360 sonic experience.
All instruments are played with intention, technique and love, using studied harmonic tones and intervals chosen to support symmetry, coherence, and inner balance. The best bit is, you don’t have to do anything other than lie back, relax, and have an open heart.
After the sound journey, you’ll receive a herbal tea and a vegan dark chocolate brownie to take home, to support grounding. There is also space for soft community connection, or the option to step into the extra-large Buddha bowl for a short vibrational finale.
Please note - you will need to bring your own comfort kit for this session (mat, blanket, pillow, eye pillow etc) as the church does not keep any of these items.
About the space
St Alfege Church Hall is a serene community space that is open to all. Inside, we use restorative essential oils, candles and seasonal lights & soundscapes, to make the room more supportive for the senses.
Please note - you will need to bring your own comfort kit for this session (mat, blanket, pillow, eye pillow etc) as the church does not keep any of these items.
