Sunday Assembly San Diego is an inclusive, non-religious community that meets to hear thoughtful talks, connect for service projects, sing songs, and generally celebrate life (with snacks). Assemblies are free to attend, and everyone is welcome. AND!! Free child care for ages 1.5 and up is available at every Assembly.June's Assembly talk:
Along the southeastern shore of the Island of Hawai’i (the “Big Island”) sits the island’s most active volcano, Kīlauea. It’s estimated that Kīlauea is between 210,000 and 280,00 years old, only popping up above sea level around 100,000 years ago. But its last 40 to 50 years have seen impressive changes in Kīlauea’s magma system. Dr. Ben Castellana, a geologist and emergency responder for the US Environmental Protection Agency, will fill us in on recent-ish updates on Hawaii’s most active volcano.
