About this Event
Join and for a full-day gathering in the park to steep and sip tea together with arts, music, and shared appreciation of nature. This year marks the 7th year of Summer Tea in Prospect Park. We are deeply grateful to continue cultivating a space that encourages creativity, mindfulness, and community. Our world needs connection more than ever, both individually and collectively. Whether you are new to Summer Tea or have been with us for many years, we look forward to spending a beautiful day with you!
11 am - 12 pm - Nature Walk, Yoga + Tea Meditation
Enjoy your choice of activity, whether a walk through the scenic trails around the Boathouse to admire Brooklyn nature, join a morning yoga session on the scenic Boathouse balcony, or simply sit for a tea meditation to become more in tune with your body and mind in the heart of Brooklyn's Backyard.
12pm - 3 pm - Community Tea Circles + Poetry Composing Tree
Enjoy tea circles created by various communities from different cultures and sit under the towering trees of Brooklyn’s Backyard to write poetry.
Continued from last year’s theme, our arts and music engagement will be curated in response to Pablo Neruda’s Odes to Common Things. Like Neruda says: "The art of tea, much like the art of poetry, is steeped in tradition and culture but leads in the end to a deeper appreciation of everyday life and a deeper appreciation of what we have in common." Join us!
Please note that this event is rain or shine and will be held inside the Boathouse in the event of rain. All programs are family-friendly.
