If you've seen cycling at the olympics there's a good chance you saw track riders on fixed wheel bikes. On Saturday 20th July we are hosting the BSCA Grass track Championships. This session is designed for riders aged 13 and above who would like to have a go riding a fixed wheel bike in a coached session on a grass surface. Riders who get the hang of it will be able to enter the individual events at the weekend. This event is part of British Cycling's Summer of Cycling. Skills covered: Moving off, Controlled stop, Riding the track for the first time, Holding a line, Observation, Joining the track, Leaving the track, Overtaking and being overtaken, Riding out of the saddle. Bikes available to borrow. How much? Free for members. £2 non-members.
For the young riders, a parent/carer must be present. Please complete a consent form (DOC) for all riders and e-mail to [email protected] in advance.
