"The Last of the Mohicans" (R)
In 1757 colonial America, during the French & Indian War, members of the fading Mohican tribe who have lived peacefully with colonists find they must rescue the daughters of a British colonel in the midst of a conflict in which they wanted no part. Starring Daniel Day-Lewis, Madeleine Stowe, Russell Means, & Wes Studi.
"1776" (PG)
1776, musical about the struggles leading up to and surrounding the signing of the Declaration of Independence, is heartwarming and funny as well as enlightening, and includes portrayals of Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, and John Adams.
"Glory" (R)
Based on a true story, Glory tells of Union leader Robert Gould Shaw as he leads the U.S. Civil War’s first all-black volunteer company. The company fights prejudices from fellow Union troops as well as the Confederates in battle. This film stars Denzel Washington, Matthew Broderick, and Morgan Freeman.
"Saving Private Ryan" (R)
After the D-Day invasion of WWII, Captain Miller takes his men behind enemy lines in France in order to save Private Ryan, whose three brothers have all been killed. Each man must find the strength to complete their duty in a world defined by the brutality of war.
"Hidden Figures" (PG)
Based on a true story, Hidden Figures tells the story of three African-American women who worked at NASA on one of the greatest operations in history—the launching of astronaut John Glenn into orbit—in spite of obstacles brought to them because of their race and gender.
"Minari" (PG-13)
Minari follows a Korean-American family that moves to Arkansas in search of their American Dream. The balance is upset when their foul-mouthed grandmother moves in. A moving story of family, challenge, and resilience.
