About this Event
Improv is a multifaceted comedic art form with many different approaches to create a fun and successful scene! Spend the summer digging into a new topic every Sunday or choose those that challenge and inspire you as an improviser!
Each week, one of our community members, performers, and aspiring teachers will offer a brand new workshop on a topic of their choice, digging deeper into many of the skills found in our core improv program or exploring aspects of performance not usually covered. These brand new workshops are a chance for aspiring teachers to sharpen their skills and experiment in subjects they are passionate for and for students to experience new perspectives in improv.
This class is recommended for students with some improv experience and who have completed at least Level Two Improv at Stomping Ground or the equivalent training including improvised scene work.
This Week's Topic is: Sharing the Spotlight on Stage
Play delicious parsley in your scenes! This workshop is focused on the art of playing a memorable character that makes both the performer and everyone else shine. Participants will learn how to build memorable, dynamic supporting roles that heighten scenes, support their scene partners, and keep the momentum moving forward. Through playful exercises, students will explore how to share stage time with intention, without disappearing or dominating. This workshop is perfect for improvisers who want to deepen their ensemble instincts and make every moment on stage count.
This one time drop in class is on Sunday from 3:30-6pm on May 31 and the instructor is Coral Davis. All sales are final.
