Summer Celebration with City Kids Outdoors

Join us for a fun day at Gompers Lagoon and Wetland on June 14, 2026 at 10:30 AM.

Your family is invited to jump into summer with us! Let's play, learn, explore, chat, and welcome the summer season. We will meet at the new Gompers Nature Play Area to start, and then roll into the activities from there. Bring snacks or a picnic lunch and stay awhile.

What to expect?

• a fishing clinic guided by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources
• nature play activities and crafts
• community hangs with like-minded Chicago nature-lovin' families

This is an all-weather outdoor event. It will only be canceled if the weather is severe or dangerous. Please dress for messy outdoor play. No fishing experience necessary.
