Summer Awakening: A full day connection workshop exploring life’s energy and its movementsAre you seeking a deeper understanding of your changing energy states?
Interested in exploring the nourishing intersection of yoga, authentic relating, and conscious touch?
In the transition from spring to summer, we often experience a high level of energy, or feelings of happiness and optimism. At the same time, there can also be a sense of unrest, ungroundedness, or anxiety. In short, our energy is moving in all directions!
Where do these changes in our energy level come from? Can we influence them, and if yes, how?
In this workshop we’ll explore the concept of prana (originating from yoga and ayurveda), describing our life-energy or subtle energy, and its forms and movement patterns, with practices such as yoga, breathwork and meditation, authentic relating and conscious touch.
WHO is this event for?
This event is open to all genders.
It is especially for you if you are desiring a safe, warm-hearted space to recharge, explore, come back to presence, reconnect with your body and relate empathetically with others.
Our experience includes working with Highly Sensitive People (HSPs); people suffering from anxiety and depression; people going through major life shifts; and members of the LGBTQ+ community.

WHAT will we practice?
Activities will consist of Yin-Yang Yoga, Authentic Relating & Conscious Touch
Yin-Yang Yoga is a mix of more active yoga styles such as vinyasa yoga, that activate and strengthen your body, and create focus for your mind, and yin yoga, a style in which you stay in a pose for several minutes, to go deeper into relaxation and awareness. Movement and poses (asanas) will be combined with meditation and breathwork (pranayama).
Authentic Relating is an interpersonal meditation. It is the practice of listening and speaking in deeper awareness of our present moment sensations, allowing us to weave richer, more truthful, and loving human-to-human connections.
Conscious Touch is the practice of bringing full attention and presence into relating physically to another person. In deeper awareness of our desires and boundaries, we will explore the co-regulating power of platonic, caring, non-sexual touch.
Through these enriching practices, we can understand and celebrate the treasures of interpersonal relating, as well as deeper connection to self.

18:50-20:00 Sharing Circle and Finishing
There will be a couple of shorter breaks throughout the day, as well as the long break, so that you have a chance to let the practices settle in your system.
The SPACE-HOLDERS
Laurie King
Laurie (he/him) is a queer British-Kiwi whose current home-base is Amsterdam. His passion is creating spaces that cultivate healthy, thriving human-to-human relationships, helping people take off their masks, listen to their sensations and celebrate their aliveness on Earth. Since 2019, he has organized and facilitated hundreds of Authentic Relating, Dating and Embodiment workshops in Oceania and Europe. His training includes The Embody Lab, Authentic Life Course, and Connection Institute. He has facilitated at internationally acclaimed festivals such as Stretch, and organizations such as ART International.
His workshops have sparked thousands of nourishing connections, turning many strangers into life-long friends. He looks forward to holding space for you!

Christian Wicke
Christian (he/him) works as a general practitioner, yoga teacher in ashtanga and vinyasa yoga, and masseur. He enjoys sharing the yoga practice and his insights about and from yoga with others, in group classes and 1-on-1 settings. Besides teaching the practical aspects of yoga, he also likes to study and debate about yoga philosophy and its implications for our daily life.
HOW MUCH will I invest?
Regular fee 95€
Early bird fee 80€ until 1st of May

PRACTICALITIES
Location: Studio Zensaties, Eerste Lauriersdwarsstraat 2, 1016PV Amsterdam.
Time: 12:00 – 20:00 (doors open at 11.45).
Dress code: Comfortable light clothing that’s easy to move in.
Intoxicants: This is an alcohol and drug free event.
Food: There will be a 1 hour-break from 15:00-16:00 hrs, where you can visit one of the several cafés/bars nearby, or eat your own food. There will also be plenty of tea and some snacks available at the studio.
Language: This workshop will be facilitated in English, but Dutch translation will be available.
Refunds: Available up to one week before the event.
Please note: This is a non-sexual event. There is a strong boundary on kissing and genital touch.
