About this Event
Now that you learned all about the soils of the Tualatin at the previous EcoTeam event, come learn about what you can do to improve soil health on your ecological restoration projects!
Join us at the Clean Water Service's Davis Tool property on June 29th for a hands‑on exploration of soil ammendments, from biochar to cover crops, and much more!
John Goetz III will kick us off with an introduction to the site, as well as some of the practices he's using to improve soil health in an area that had been farmed for over 100 years. We'll then get a chance to learn from Ian Hunter about his work improving the soil biome, Cuauhtemoc Villa's experience with producing and using biochar, Aubrey Harris' experience using cover crops, and Bill Riddell's array of products for improving soil health.
This event takes place entirely outdoors, rain or shine—so come prepared for hot and muddy conditions. Shade, water, and a portable restroom will be available on site.
The event will start at 10:00am and go until noon
If folks are interested in continuing the conversation, Hillsboro Downtown Station is less than a mile away and offers a variety of cuisines.
