About this Event
Suicide Prevention is a three‑hour professional training designed to equip those working in recovery-oriented settings with the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills needed to recognize and respond to individuals at risk for suicide. Because individuals in recovery may experience elevated vulnerability due to co‑occurring mental health challenges, trauma histories, or periods of instability, this training focuses on strategies that are compassionate, evidence‑informed, and tailored to the unique needs of this population.
Participants will gain a deeper understanding of risk factors, protective factors, and warning signs of suicide, with an emphasis on how these show up in recovery environments. The training introduces effective communication approaches, including how to ask directly about suicidal thoughts, how to validate emotional distress, and how to maintain a supportive, non‑judgmental stance.
Continental Breakfast will be provided, and NAADAC-approved CEUs.
