Boost your suicide assessment and management skills in this free online and interactive APA certified CE course.

The Suicide 202 training workshop is a follow-up to the “Suicide 201: Suicide Prevention and Management for Diverse Clients” course. Suicide 202 provides the opportunity for hands-on practice via case conference with de-identified clients experiencing various suicide risk levels and crisis situations. Interactive learning will emphasize the practical application of evidence-based and culturally responsive approaches to suicide screening, assessment, crisis management, and interventions to facilitate safety and recovery while accounting for liability considerations. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in case consultation on de-identified cases. Aims are to provide hands-on guidance to advance culturally responsive suicide prevention and management amongst clinicians and therapists.

This course will be best for those intending to discuss Youth based cases

Upon completion a certificate for 4 APA approved CEs (3.5 hours) will be provided

This training is targeted towards beginning, intermediate, or advanced levels. Appropriate for clinicians, peer providers, counselors and others

Learning Objectives

This workshop is designed to help you:

1. Review key steps and concepts of assessing and managing suicide risk among youth in school settings

Practice the following skills with de-identified clinical cases:

2. Youth suicide risk screening and assessment, incorporating current level of risk and standard suicide risk and protective factors

3. Youth suicide safety planning and intervention to promote recovery, while accounting for important clinical documentation and legal considerations

4. Collaboration with schools and families within the process of youth suicide management

5. Infusion of culture and diversity considerations throughout the process of youth suicide risk screening, assessment, intervention, and documentation.
