Join us inside the Palace of the Governors at the New Mexico History Museum on Sun., June 7, 11 a.m. - noon, for a talk with the students who created the special National History Day exhibition, "Tierra o Muerte: The Tierra Amarilla Conflict." Created by Elias Guadiana, Cheyanne Medrano, and Mateo Salcido from Cobre High School, the exhibit explores the historic 1967 Tierra Amarilla land grant conflict and its lasting impact on New Mexico’s cultural and political landscape.The students will be interviewed about their research process, the challenges of interpreting a complex historical event, and the experience of designing their exhibit. This conversation will be held both in-person and livestreamed on the History Museum's Instagram account @NewMexicoHistoryMuseum.
Admission is free to New Mexico residents. In-person talk is included with admission for non-residents.
