Collaborative workshop on sustainable exhibition design and installation techniques using accessible, eco-friendly materials.
About this Event

Please join Dr. Kirsty Robertson (Centre for Sustainable Curating, Western University), the Sustainable Signage team from FOFA Gallery, and Le Labo for a collaborative workshop

The sessions will include:

  • Professional paper label design and installation
  • Creating removable wal text using starch-based adhesives
  • Replacing plastics in exhibition design
  • An introduction to sustainable signage resources from the Centre for Sustainable Curating and FOFA Gallery
  • A collaborative reflection exploring sustainable approaches adaptable to artist-run centres

This workshop is developed in partnership with the Centre for Sustainable Curating, FOFA Gallery, and Le Labo, with support from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, Western University’s Department of Visual Arts, the Canada Research Chairs program, and the Canada Council for the Arts.

Veuillez vous joindre à la Dre Kirsty Robertson (Centre for Sustainable Curating, Western University), à l’équipe Sustainable Signage de la FOFA Gallery ainsi qu’au Labo pour un atelier collaboratif.

Les séances aborderont notamment :

  • La conception et l’installation professionnelles de cartels en papier
  • La création de textes muraux amovibles à l’aide de colle d’amidon
  • Le remplacement des plastiques dans la conception d’exposition
  • Une présentation des ressources du Centre for Sustainable Curating et de la FOFA Gallery en matière de signalétique durable
  • Un temps de réflexion collective pour explorer des approches durables adaptées aux centres d’artistes

Cet atelier est développé en partenariat avec le Centre for Sustainable Curating, la FOFA Gallery et le Labo, avec le soutien du Conseil de recherches en sciences humaines du Canada, du Département des arts visuels de Western University, du programme des Chaires de recherche du Canada ainsi que du Conseil des arts du Canada.
