Charlotte’s own violinist extraordinaire Karen Briggs, known for her fiery improvisations and globe-spanning performance. Karen Briggs has performed and/or recorded with everyone from The Royal Philharmonic to Yanni to Stanley Clarke to Diana Ross to Ledisi to Kirk Franklin to Annie Lennox to the Wu Tang Clan! She has performed all over the globe as a featured soloist.
Jazmin Ghent, Smooth Jazz Saxophonist:
Jazmin Ghent-Jackson is an award-winning international saxophonist and educator, rapidly becoming a leading voice in contemporary jazz, R&B, and gospel. Jazmin has released five successful albums, building a consistent stream of heavy rotation on major jazz stations, including Sirius XM Watercolors. She has had several singles on the Billboard charts.
Ghent’s dynamic performances have graced prestigious festivals and venues worldwide.
Maria Howell, Jazz Vocalist:
Maria Howell is a celebrated singer, actor, and voiceover artist with over 35 years of experience. A song stylist in her own right, Maria has shared the musical stage with such legendary artists as Nancy Wilson, George Benson, Ray Charles and Earl Klugh.
Maria Howell began her career as the choir soloist in the Oscar Nominated The Color Purple, and has since appeared in hit TV shows such as Lifetime's, Army Wives, Marc Cherry's Devious Maids, Eric Kripke and J.J. Abrams' apocalyptic Revolution and Aquarius starring X-Files' David Duchovny, both on NBC.
