Please come to the Playhouse on Friday, May 22nd at 7pm!Four members of the Childbloom Guitar Program from the St. Louis area, ranging in age from 13 to 18 are coming to Cincinnati on Memorial Day Weekend. The four classical guitarists were invited by a recording studio to come and have a professional audio track created especially for them.
The members of the ensemble are very grateful and they wanted to do something for MCP in return. They are going to put on a small concert at 7pm on Friday, May 22nd at the Playhouse. Admission will be entry into a 50/50 Raffle to benefit MCP and the performers. So audience members can pay a dollar and get in or pay for as many raffle tickets as they want to get in. The performers did not ask for any remuneration, but MCP thought it would be a nice gesture.
The students will be performing both in ensemble and as soloists. They will feature works from Olga Amelina Vera, Andrew York, Dieter Kiedler, and Kevin Taylor.
Childbloom is a national program with 22 studios located in 16 states. Begun in 1980, it was the first national program to introduce music to students specifically through guitar. It is the largest program of its kind in the US, accepting interested students from age 5 and up.
Please mark May 22nd on your calendar and come welcome Jonah Rosenthal, Josh Hughes, Harmony Catlin, and Kai Bealmer to Ohio, as they share this evening of classical guitar.
Everyone is welcome to hang around after the concert for socialization!
