Striking a Balance: Respectability Politics & Graduate Professionalization

Led by E Phelps, Associate Professor of Sociology at Pierce College, this workshop focuses on respectability politics and how such practices show up in higher education for those who hold minoritized identities. Attendees will be encouraged to consider ways they can show up authentically in the academy with their intersecting identities.
