Workshop Description:
What kind of ways are there to fund a nonprofit? How to create your own initial roadmap? What should you consider when exploring various funding options? How can nonprofits create a sustainable revenue mix? These and many other all-things-money-questions will be discussed and jointly explored at this workshop focused on supporting NGOs looking to fund all the good they do.
The workshop will be hosted by:
- Lucy Alice Thomas: Lucy Alice Thomas is a multidisciplinary consultant, facilitator, and social movement activist focused on building sustainable, intersectional infrastructures for social and cultural change. After serving as founding Director of Give Something Back to Berlin, she co-initiated the Women*s Funding Initiative and the Fundraising as Movement Work series. She has since supported grassroots groups and NGOs in Germany and internationally with collaboration, funding strategy, and organisational development. Lucy is currently Head of Development and Partnerships at the School of Transnational Organizing / European Alternatives Berlin, working at the intersection of funding, movement building, and programming.
- Perttu Ratilainen. In his previous life Perttu was a senior executive at a Fortune 500 corporation. Since moving to Berlin he has co-founded two non-profits, served in the leadership of them both securing sizable grants, (co-)initiated multiple projects, and consulted numerous organizations. Perttu’s expertise includes fundraising, financial strategies, HR planning and budgeting as well as communications strategy
